How to choose between replacing or merging when importing binders
When importing a JSON file into Cardstashr you are given the choice to replace all existing data or merge the imported binders alongside your current collection. Understanding both options helps you manage backups and combine TCG collections effectively.
1Start the JSON Binder Import in Cardstashr Settings
Open Settings in Cardstashr, click Import, and select your previously exported JSON binder file.
2Review the Import Summary with Binder and Card Counts
Cardstashr displays a summary of the import file including the number of binders, total card count, and other data to be imported.
3Choose Replace to Overwrite All Current Cardstashr Data
Select 'Replace' to completely overwrite your current Cardstashr data with the imported file. This option is ideal for restoring a clean backup.
4Choose Merge to Add Binders Alongside Existing Data
Select 'Merge' to add the imported binders as new tabs alongside your existing collection. No existing data is overwritten or deleted with this option.
Cardstashr's replace and merge import options give you full control over how collection data is combined. Use replace for clean restores and merge for consolidating multiple TCG collections into a single binder library.
